Initially CZUR was devoted to non-destructive book scanning, successfully implementing four key innovations to create a market leading product range.
The M3000Pro, now version 2, is supplied with a book cradle to reduce page curvature and improve symmetry between LHS / RHS pages.
As the camera images the open book pages, 3 lasers simultaneously scan and record the natural curvature of the open pages and immediately the CZUR software can successfully implement page flattening.
When pages are stiff and will not lie open the provision of "finger clots" allows the user to hold down left and right pages while the software recognizes the finger clot pattern and automatically removes the pattern from the saved image.
Reflections from glossy media, especially glossy magazines and higher quality books, is solved with the provision of clip-on side lights to complement the built in overhead lighting. The combination of these key technologies produces a very good scanned image, free of reflections.

The next goal was to complete the scans quickly.
For the majority of users scan speed is a sturdy foot switch but optionally a software button, hand switch or a scanner switch is available.
The introduction of AUTOSCAN, for repetitious jobs such as books, magazines and invoices means you only have to turn the page and your CZUR software will initiate the scan automatically. Many other software features are listed in the model camparison table below.
When scanning is complete, saving offers a choice file formats plus ABBYY OCR (Optical Character Recognition) options to create editable MS Word, MS Excel and searchable PDF.
The M3000Pro V2, ET25Pro, ET18Pro, ET16Plus provide the highest quality scans as required by curators, librarians and archivists, schools and universities and commercial volume users.

The Aura X Pro also incorporates the 4 key features mention above, but adds portability making it useful around the office, at home and in the field. The Aura X Pro model sold in New Zealand and Australia includes the side lights, a battery and mains power supply / battery charger and knob for lamp control making it a useful desk lamp, night reading lamp or night light, quality scans and convenience of folding for travel and storage The Aura X Pro, the right combination of quality scans, modest price and portability.

The recently introduced Shine series, explore scanning in new markets. Key features include lower cost and light weight portability. CZUR Shine scanners fold up for transport and storage, use a 500mA standard USB 2.0 high speed port for operating power and scan signal transfer to a laptop or desktop computer. The camera operates over a 90 degree arc, creating new scan applications and options. CZUR envisaged additional applications for portraits on ID cards, bank teller and access ID, field recording natural objects, where auto focus supports these ideas. Covid has made distance learning and communication via Zoom etc a normal part of our lives the ability use table video imagery in conjunction with inbuilt microphones can provide teachers and grandparents alike with a flexible audio + video interface with a steady base and flexible camera angle. With two free hands the A4 and A4/A3 surfaces can morph into a small "black" board well suited imparting classroom learning via video + audio link.
The economic Shine series will operate with built in or natural light. To scan glossy material the user may consider providing a refelction free side lighting.
